Bigger on the Inside: TARDIS scarves old and new

Thrilled!  Just plain thrilled with the response to my TARDIS scarf pattern as published on Knitty.

Amazing pic of Amelia Pond's travelling kit courtesy of the lovely Natalie Selles.

Huge thanks to Jillian and Amy for inspiration and support during the design process. And how good is the colorway, form Lorna's Laces?  It's the perfect TARDISy blue.

A question that's been asked a fair bit... the pattern suggests two skeins of yarn... you could get it out of one, but you might need to shorten the edging a bit....

And did you see my fab new headshot, taken by the lovely Amy?

The scarf in that shot is actually the second Doctor Who scarf Mum knitted for me. The first one got pretty bedraggled, and so she knit a replacement. It's a precious thing - a key part of my personal and my knitting history.

Now that I'm a knitter, I understand a little better the work that went into an 8-foot scarf worked in (k1, p1) ribbing. She must really really love me.

Thanks Mum for those original scarves!

Same thing happened to me! I hand knit a set of hat, mittens and scarf and wore them to my new business management job. My boss (who I was dating, stupid me) told me I looked like an idiot and took me SHOPPING. He then proceeded to buy me clothes for every occasion, and I loved the attention, yet it really didn't feel right. Wish I had stood up for myself, but it was a great learning situation for me. My best friends cousin ended up marrying him, and it did turn into a controlling abusive marriage. Glad I saw that it was not right for me.

"Bigger on the Inside" is one of the best Doctor Who themed craft projects I've ever seen. Any mum would be proud to see a tradition carried on so well.

Just wow! I'm glad the original Dr. Who scarf ended retirement and is out and about again. The new pattern is completely fantastic. Thank you!

This is a brilliant pattern! My daughter will be getting one for Christmas. I just need to figure out what yarn to use; I'm not sure the Lorna's Laces yarn you used is in my budget. Thank you for coming up with this!

So if I wanted one of these for myself, and my friend wants one for herself too, I could knit two of them from three skeins of yarn? This makes me happy. Now, if I could just find some...

I just wanted to thank you for publishing this great pattern on knitty for free! It really is the classiest Doctor Who Scarf ever. I'll be trying to dye a nice TARDIS blue soon and start knitting.
Cheers!
