This is the Shelridge Farms sock yarn I bought at the Frolic. I believe the colourway should be called Newsprint...
On the topic of socks, since there are always socks on the go, I've recently become enamoured of the KnitPicks Harmony wood DPNs. They're absolutely beautiful, and seem to have terrific points.
I'll qualify my comment by saying that I'm a new sock knitter. I've only knit 3 pairs of socks so far, but my third pair was knit on the Harmony wood 2.25 mm dpns. And I love them. I'm very happy with my purchase of the set of six sizes! (2-3.25mm)
I've used them on a few pairs of socks. They are terrific -- much stronger than other wooden sock needles, slightly longer at 6", and they feel and look great. I doubt I'll be using any others. I bought the set too which was more due to self-indulgence than need. Lois
I'm a teacher, technical editor, designer and writer, based in Toronto. My first book "Beyond Knit and Purl" has been praised for its fresh approach to teaching knitting. My latest book, "Pattern Writing for Knit Designers" has been called a "game-changer".
I'm Lead Technical Editor for Knitty. I'm known for my "small start" approach to teaching sock and mitten knitting.
I have opinions, mad math skills and an unfeasibly large stash of sock yarn.
