Well, you know I already have Miss Otis Regrets, but I really, really need to make some pretty slippers. I have insanely cold feet - to the extent that my husband sometimes checks that I am breathing at night, as they are so icy. At least he's ruled out the possibility of my being a vampire ....
ReplyDeleteOoohhh....I have always wanted to try Koigu and never have, and your Open House Slippers have been in my Ravelry favourites *forever*. I would love to knit up a pair of these before winter comes and my hardwood floors get cold! :-)

I've never tried Koigu and I've always wanted to! Also, I've just moved my blocking headquarters to an unheated linoleum-floored room (not the best conditions for drying knits, but at least the cats don't have access to it) so slippers would be REALLY nice for when I have to hang out in there.

I need them because that beautiful yarn and Miss Otis Regrets might be the only things that save from A)being tragically uncool for the rest of my life and B)the prospect of a dreary South Dakota winter which is predicted to make us pay for the incredibly mild one we got last year.
ReplyDeleteAnd the slippers would be perfect to keep my poor husband from losing his mind having to choose whether to put up with me wearing shoes in the house or sticking my ice-encrusted size 11's on him when I crawl into bed at night.

I think the best reason to want the ball and patterns is - although I have been knitting since 1992 - i have not knit with Koigu! How can that be??? I love sock yarn scarves, too! Plus - I just found your blog today, so today is my special day. C-

Ooohhhh I so want to have that yarn! It would receive a lot of love at my home! I have been wanting to make Miss Otis Regrets and this would give me the perfect reason to start it right away.

ReplyDeleteI am one of those people who likes to buy yarn and patterns on a whim... but sadly, when it comes time to start a project, I find that none of the yarn will work with any of the patterns I have.

Cutest slippers ever! Would be great for those cold wood floors. Or at the office..it's hot outside, freezing A/C inside, and I don't wear shoes in my cubical because I'm a rebel ha! and I like to sit cross legged in my chair (so professional!)
ReplyDeleteI really, really need to knit the open-house slippers. I used Koigu years and years ago and would love to get back to it. It's very important that we support Canadian (and in this case Ontario) yarn suppliers so that they continue to produce these fabulous yarns.

I really, really need to make the open-house slippers for my family and friends for Christmas. Not only do they make a great gift they demonstrate my support of Ontario yarn-producers at a time when we are being inundated with off-shore products.
ReplyDeleteThere's no need whatever for that skein to feel sad and lonely. I would be happy to give it a loving home and teach it how to be something warm and cozy, like those cute slippers. It would be happy to live up to its full potential.
